Local optometrist :- “I find it very useful having the MRF in my shop. I am able to provide an added service which is very useful in detecting any issues with the visual field apart from usual distance and near vision testing. I recommend it to all my customers”
The MRF Apps are fully compliant with the stringent requirements of the Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and is also registered by the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA)
The MRF apps were developed in Melbourne, Australia, by a team of highly qualified professionals in the fields of optometry and ophthalmology along with the support of the prestigious organisations including the University of Melbourne and Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital who also co-own the Intellectual Property of MRF technology.
MRF Apps can be used to perform visual field tests (perimetry), acuity test and central red test for patients via qualified optometrists where conventional visual field machine is not available.
MRF is currently suitable for most iPad devices.
Research and development of this technology is supported by:
- University of Melbourne, Australia
- Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, Australia
- Centre for Eye Research, Australia
Optometrists see MRF apps as an outstanding additional service they can provide to their customers that helps them test the vision of their patients more holistically. Many of the optometrists are delighted with this technology as they cannot afford the standard visual field testing machine in their shops.
The output of MRF apps is in the form of standard charts and graphs that are familiar to a qualified optometrists. They can also print the results for their customers and advise them to consult an ophthalmologist for further diagnosis if they notice anything unusual.
